Mèden Âgan Kennel (English introduction)

I am a cocker spaniels enthusiast and decided to become amateur breeder a few years ago. In fact, “breeding” is not the right word as we constitute more of a “family” : my dogs, and the other animals in my family (cats and horses...), occupy with me all the rooms of the house and have access to all outdoor spaces. I allow no species segregation or isolation and all the members of my little world of cocker spaniels are able to take full advantage of the family garden, give regular visits to the horses (under our watchful eye of course!) and tease at will the playful cats! I have a true passion for animals and they occupy an essential part in my life.

To make a long story short : one day, my eyes crossed those of a cocker spaniel-like dog – a non-LOF as we call them – whose name was Warhol. He soon became my companion, and even my friend. Unfortunately, he left me too soon and even though I had always grown up with other types of dogs around me I then realised that cocker spaniels were the perfect dogs for me and that I would never be able to live without them or the peculiar look in their eyes. One day Solo, a red male, became the first cocker spaniel to embark on my Arch... Since then, I have perfected my breeding criteria, chosen to participate actively in exhibitions (even though it does not constitute my main priority as breeder), applied to the French Spaniel Club and formed an entire tribe of big ears! Sixteen big ears for eight true individuals with each their own personality and characteristic expressions....

This beautiful cocker spaniel story has just begun but has already enabled me to travel a lot and meet wonderfull peoples ( few of them stay around me as friends to teach me how doing well in breeding and sharing some very good times...). I have few litters but try to select as best I can even if it means crossing many borders trying to find the “right dog”... By the way! Mèden Âgan is a Greek precept which means “nothing extra” and that was for the philosophers the true definition of beauty and well-being, in other words “the perfect Harmony”. An ideal I would like to approach as much as possible without ever attaining it however so the adventure lasts as long as possible...
